324. The Flamboyant Lady

A fellow passenger on my second tour to Hanoi, she was nick named "the Flamboyant Lady" due to her choice of colorful clothes and her outspoken personality. She was the most vocal one on the bus whenever there was a problem with the tour guide.

323. Grilled Fish

Long Xuyên, Vietnam
I was invited to a cook out event at a friend rice's farm, and grilled fish was part of the menu.  This was very authentic dish since I had not see these method of cooking before in my life, and it was served with fresh vegetables as wraps with mixed fish sauce, yummy.... I had also learned from this trip that most farmers would stay at grass huts, similar to the one on the background, temporarily to care for their farm until they harvest their crops, between two or three harvests per year. The weather during this time was so hot and humid, I think it was close to 100s fahrenheit, even the grass hut was not able to keep me cool. I ended up sitting on a hammock with shade next to a stream the whole time.

322. Folksong's Singer

One of the many popular things to do in Huế was to watch singers perform traditional folksong on a boat that cruises on Perfume River at night.  This kind of show had always make me fall in love with Vietnamese culture all over again.  It brought me tears of joys.  And at the end of the show, the performers prepared the paper lanterns for the audiences to flow it down the river.
